Message from the Chairman

My ancestors began brewing soy sauce more than 300 years ago in the small town of Noda. Today our high quality, naturally brewed soy sauce is sold in over 100 countries.

Our new, vigorous management team looks ahead with confidence to further worldwide expansion by establishing new plants that will enable us to move our products more efficiently and encompass promising new markets. Our goal is to blend the best of the Kikkoman tradition with modern, technological approaches to create new products and increase demand.

Beyond just doing business, we aim to continue to be good corporate citizens both at home and abroad, by reinforcing our commitment to local communities and contributing to environmental protection. At this time, we have production facilities in Japan, the U.S.A., the Netherlands, Singapore, Taiwan and China. The community spirit we developed in our native city of Noda has spread to wherever we have a presence.

We particularly seek to continue our support of cultural exchange, emphasizing student scholarships. Through research, we also aim to develop new and better products through biotechnology, a key process in brewing soy sauce.

We take pride in our activities that promote the exchange of food culture, whether it is the introduction of Japanese seasonings to people throughout the world or bringing Western foods and beverages to consumers in our own country.

Always conscious of what people rely on and their appetites, I am confident Kikkoman will remain a leader in establishing standards for good taste and expanding cultural exchanges. We pledge our utmost efforts in contributing to the pursuit of the enjoyment of good food.
