Directions

  1. Scoop out seeds and pulp from center of the kabocha if necessary. Lightly coat inside surface with butter and salt.
  2. Mix all the ingredients under (A) to make the meat filling, then press the meat into the center opening, allowing it to rise above the opening slightly into a dome shape. Place about 1 1/2 Tbsp of butter on top of the meat filling, and then use the remainder of the butter to lightly coat the outside of the pumpkin.
  3. Cook the stuffed kabocha inside an oven for 40 minutes at 200 degrees Celsius (400 degrees Fahrenheit). When outside of the kabocha is easily pierced by skewer, it can be removed.
  4. Mix the ingredients under (B) together to create the sauce. Serve alongside stuffed kabocha.
