Peel and thinly slice-up the potatoes, then rinse in water and dry off.

Mince the onion and garlic.

Heat the olive oil in a fry pan and saute (2). When tender, add in the ground meat.

Add and mix in the diced tomatoes. When the mixture begins to simmer, season with (A).

Spread half of (1) into a baking dish (au gratin bakeware), and spread on half of (4) on top. Repeat this process with the remaining ingredients, then sprinkle entirely with the cheese and cook in an oven toaster for 15 minutes. While it is cooking, cover with aluminum foil and check periodically to control how golden the casserole becomes.
