Noda Shoyu Co. Ltd. (forerunner to Kikkoman) is founded in Noda through the merger of eight family companies.

The Takasago plant is constructed near Osaka, Japan

1939

The Goyogura plant is built in Noda to preserve traditional techniques and continue production of soy sauce for the Imperial Household.

1957

Kikkoman International Inc. is founded in San Francisco, U.S.A. for sales and marketing

1962

Kikkoman creates a soft drink bottling franchise, Tone Coca-Cola Bottling Co., Ltd., in Noda.

Manns Wine Co., Ltd. is established in Japan.

 
1963

Kikkoman enters a venture to market Del Monte products in Japan.

 
1967

An agreement is reached with the Leslie Salt Company in the U.S. to start local bottling of soy sauce and teriyaki sauce.

 
1969

Kikkoman invests in Japan Food Corporation, a trading company and predecessor to JFC International Inc., in San Francisco.
