  • Unagi eel are those found in freshwater and Anago eel are those found in saltwater.

Directions

  1. Lightly stroke the anago eel with the back edge of a knife to remove any slimy moisture. Cut in half. Cut the bell peppers into 2 cm (0.8 in.) wide vertical pieces.
  2. In the following order, dip (1) in the flour, the beaten egg and finally the bread crumbs. Deep-fry in moderately hot oil.
  3. Mix together (A) and enjoy as a dip for deep-fried (2).

Cut the bell pepper in half, fold the stem and then remove the seeds with your fingers. This is an easier and less wasteful method than using a knife.
