- Wrap the sweet potato in plastic wrap, and microwave for 2 minutes at 600 W (or on high).
Turn over and microwave for another minute.
Continue to heat up until it can be easily pierced with a fork or skewer.
- Peel and smash (1), then add and mix with (A).
When forming the mixture into round dumplings, add mirin little by little so they are moist enough to prevent cracking.
- Brush the balls with egg yolk or more mirin and sprinkle with the sesame seeds.
Bake the dumplings in an oven at 210 C (410 F) for 10 minutes or until the dumplings are lightly browned.
