Singapore Plant: History and Current Role
Kikkoman’s Singapore plant began shipments in 1984 as the company’s second overseas production base, following the opening of its U.S. plant in 1973. Primarily serving the Southeast Asian and Oceania markets, it produces over 100 different products, including soy sauce and teriyaki sauce. The plant also produces gluten-free soy sauce, non-alcohol soy sauce for the Middle East market, and halal-certified soy sauce for Muslim consumers, meeting diverse market and consumer needs. Currently, its products are exported to more than 30 countries across Asia, Oceania, the Middle East, and the South Pacific.

Press Conference: Growth in the Asia-Oceania Market and Plans to Expand Production Capacity
At the press conference, Honorary CEO and Chairman of the Board Mr. Mogi emphasized, “In Asia, per capita income is rising, and the role of the Singapore plant will become increasingly important.” He expressed the company’s intention to consider expanding the plant’s production capacity in response to growth in the Asia-Oceania market. He also stated, “It is important that Kikkoman Soy Sauce be used in local cuisines, and we will continue to meet the growing demand for halal soy sauce among Muslim consumers.”

On the same evening, a commemorative party was held at the Shangri-La Hotel. About 150 guests, including the Honorary CEO and Chairman of the Board, local dignitaries, industry representatives, key business partners, and media, attended the event.
