Kikkoman Selected for CDP’s Highest “A List” Ranking in Climate Change and Water Security

December 12, 2025

The Kikkoman Group (hereafter our company) has been recognized by the international NGO CDP(*) for leadership in transparency and performance in information disclosure, and has been selected for the highest rating, the “A List,” in two categories: “Climate Change” and “Water Security.” This marks our company’s first inclusion in the A List for Climate Change and its third consecutive year (sixth time overall) for Water Security.

Guided by our corporate slogan, “seasoning your life,” we conduct business activities with a strong emphasis on harmony with nature. In our environmental initiatives, embracing the motto “delicious memories come from abundant nature,” we have built a company-wide environmental conservation framework. Under our environmental vision towards 2030, the “Kikkoman Group Long-Term Environmental Vision,” we are working to achieve net-zero CO₂ emissions by 2050, in line with the long-term goals set forth in the Paris Agreement. As part of this effort, we are promoting initiatives to reduce CO₂ emissions by more than 50% by fiscal 2030 compared to fiscal 2018, and have obtained certification from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). Furthermore, recognizing that water is an essential raw ingredient in our core product, we position consideration for water environments as one of our key pillars, managing water usage and wastewater volumes at our production sites. In addition to setting targets for reducing water usage per unit of production, we aim to minimize environmental impact by establishing and managing voluntary wastewater standards that are stricter than legal requirements, and by optimizing wastewater purification before discharge. The Kikkoman Group will continue striving to integrate environmental initiatives into our business activities, contribute to addressing social challenges, and support the achievement of the SDGs. We will also disclose environmental information, engage in local environmental conservation efforts, and strengthen collaboration with stakeholders.
