December 17, 2024

In commemoration of its 40-year partnership with Kikkoman Sales USA, Inc. (KSU), the Kikkoman Group’s sales & marketing company in the U.S., on September 3, 2024, the Culinary Institute of America (CIA), a world-renowned premier culinary college in the U.S., named a terrace on its California campus “The Kikkoman Terrace”, and a dedication ceremony was held.

For 40 years, KSU has provided educational support, including in the forms of scholarships and various culinary competitions, to the CIA. During this time, they have shared a commitment to promoting culinary excellence, innovation and education. The CIA saluted KSU for its many years of philanthropic activities and “dedication to innovation and education that has shaped the future of gastronomy”, honoring this relationship by giving the Kikkoman name to a terrace on its California campus. The Kikkoman Terrace is a testament to the partnership between the CIA and KSU, offering students a space for the fusion of creativity and excellence.

Each speaker emphasized the importance of remaining passionate and inspired, inciting excitement and ambition among the around 100 attendees, most of whom were students.

Ahead of the name dedication ceremony, KSU hosted a dumpling competition on the campus. Students were challenged to “create innovative dumpling recipes that showcase the versatility of Kikkoman Soy Sauce”, making the most of their culinary prowess and creativity. Judging by CIA and KSU representatives was carried out at the ceremony, and the top two groups received prizes. The competition was a resounding success, both highlighting the exceptional talent and creativity of the CIA students and framing a tremendous debut for The Kikkoman Terrace.

In addition to students and faculty, visitors from all over the world will recognize the prominent status that the CIA has given Kikkoman. Increased brand visibility, elevated reputation and a further strengthened bond with the CIA will contribute to the growth of Kikkoman’s business overall. Furthermore, new relationships may be fostered between Kikkoman and culinary professionals and students who view the signage, creating new opportunities for business and brand ambassadorships. Lastly, by establishing Kikkoman as a thought leader in the food industry and promoting innovation, this signage can strengthen our brand’s positioning and influence.”

KSU will continue educational support of the CIA to cultivate the next generation of culinary experts and promote the international exchange of food culture by encouraging the acceleration of student growth and innovation.
