Sustainability Governance

Basic Approach

The Kikkoman Group is committed to contributing to solving social issues through its business activities, in order to realize its corporate principles and “Global Vision 2030”. We believe that contributing to solving social issues aligns with sustainability efforts, and as such we use the terms “contributing to solving social issues” and “sustainability” interchangeably.

To strengthen our efforts in this area, it is essential for each employee to understand the Kikkoman Group’s policies and recognize and practice their roles within their respective workplaces. Based on this approach, the Kikkoman Group is actively establishing a company-wide framework to promote these initiatives.

Sustainability Governance Structure

The Kikkoman Group has established the Sustainability Committee,* with our CEO serving as the chair. The Sustainability Committee sets the company-wide approach and policies, identifies risks and opportunities, and implements corresponding actions. Additionally, it examines specific measures and oversees their dissemination both within the organization and externally.

The Sustainability Committee periodically reports on sustainability-related matters to the Kikkoman Group’s Board of Directors. Based on these reports, the Board of Directors makes important policy decisions for the Group regarding sustainability, monitors progress, and aligns with the Group’s overall management strategy.
*Renamed from the Corporate Social Responsibility Promotion Committee in April 2024
