Use a knife or peeler to remove tough outer skin from base of the asparagus stalks.

Remove skin and fat from chicken breasts if desired. Use a rolling pin or similar instrument to flatten the chicken breasts to an even thickness of about 2 to 3 mm (around 0.2 in).

Season the chicken with salt and black pepper.

Place a slice of cheese on each piece of chicken. Next lay the asparagus onto the outer edge of the chicken and cheese and roll-up until the asparagus is fully wrapped. Cut each wrapped asparagus in half.

In a fry pan heat the oil over medium heat. Place the wrapped asparagus pieces into the pan so that the end portion of the chicken and cheese wrapping the asparagus is cooked first, helping to seal the asparagus in. Continue cooking until lightly browned over the entire outer surface of the chicken. Once evenly browned and cooked through, season with the ingredients from (A) and turn off the heat.

Remove from the fry pan onto a plate, serve cut into smaller portions if desired.

The skin from the root to about 1/3 to 1/2 way up the asparagus spear is hard, so use a peeler to remove this. Use a peeler rather than a knife to achieve thin and even peeling.
