
Diced onion sauteed in soy sauce and butter infuse the hamburger steak with umami-juiciness. This recipe uses mixed beef and pork, but feel free to adjust for 100% of your preferred ground meat.

Combine (B), mince the onion.

Heat 1 Tbsp of olive oil in a fry pan over medium heat, add in the onion and saute for 1 minute. Once the oil is spread throughout, add in (A), saute for 1 more minute, then turn off the heat.

Place the ground meats and salt into a bowl, knead together until sticky.

Add (B), (2) and (D) to (3), knead to combine. Form into small oval patties, then lightly coat with flour.
※ Prepares 2 to 3 large patties or 4 small patties. -

Heat 1 Tbsp of olive oil in a fry pan over medium heat. Place (4) inside and pan-fry each side for 2 minutes each. Once browned on each side, cover with a lid, steam-fry for 5 to 6 minutes over low heat, then serve onto plates. Leave the cooking juices in the fry pan.

Add (C) into the fry pan (5), warm the sauce over low heat, then pour over the hamburger steaks. If desired, serve with a side of pan-roasted potatoes and carrots, and boiled broccoli.
Cooking Basics




Cut the onion with its outer skin removed vertically in half, and thinly slice cut-side down without cutting as far as the base. Then lay the knife flat and insert horizontal cuts, finely chopping from end to end.


Peel the skin of the carrot, remove the stem, and slice at consistent widths from end to end.
