Directions

  1. Drain and dry the tofu by wrapping it in paper towels. Divide into 4 long sticks.
  2. Remove the pit and skin from the avocado and cut into 4 sticks.
  3. Mix the oyster sauce with onions.
  4. Flatten out the spring roll skins and wrap (1), (2) and (3). Seal the edges with liquid starch.
  5. Pour a decent amount of oil for deep-frying in a pan and evenly fry (4). Remove, cut into edible size pieces and garnish with ketchup.

Cooking Basics

Avocado - peeling

Cut the avocado lengthwise with a knife until contact is made with the pit. Without removing the knife, make a continuous slice around the pit until the knife meets the initial incision point. Twist the two halves to separate. Strike the pit with the base part of the knife blade strong enough so that it becomes embedded and remove the pit. Use your hands to gently peel away the skin.
