Shave 1/3 of the cucumber starting from the head into little pieces. Diagonally slice the remaining, and lightly sprinkle with salt.

Quickly douse the sardines in boiling water, then dry.

When the thinly sliced cucumbers become pliable, rinse with water, dry, and mix with sardines.
