  1. Cut the onion and ham both into 1.5 cm (1/2 in) squares.
  2. Boil the spaghetti in lightly salted water.
  3. While the spaghetti is boiling, fry (1), pour in the tomato sauce and lightly simmer before cutting the heat.
  4. Drain the spaghetti and mix well with (3).
