Place 3 cherry tomatoes on a skewer, and wrap 1 slice of pork around the skewer. Repeat this with the remaining cherry tomatoes.

Remove the stem from the eggplant and divide it into 4 pieces (lengthwise). Place one piece onto a skewer and wrap this with 1 slice of pork. Repeat this with the remaining eggplant pieces.

Spread the sesame oil in a fry pan, arrange (1) and (2) inside with the wrap-ends facing down, brown on one side then turn over, cover with a lid, and turn the skewers over from time to time while allowing to cook.

Add in the soy sauce and mirin, turn the skewers over repeatedly to coat in the sauce.

Serve on a dish with a sprinkle of seven-spice chili pepper if desired.
