thinly sliced beef

300 g (10.6 oz.)

onion

steamed rice

4 bowls (600 g / 21.2 oz.)

sesame seeds

as desired

(A)

canned whole tomatoes

400 g (14.1 oz.)

mirin (Manjo Mirin, Kotteri Mirin)

100 ml (3.4 fl. oz.)

Directions

  1. Chop the beef into easy-to-eat pieces. Slice the onion into wedges and break the shimeji mushrooms apart into small bunches.  
  2. Place (A) into a pot, once boiling add in the onion and simmer. Once the onion is softened, add in the beef and shimeji mushrooms and simmer for about 5 minutes.
  3. Distribute the cooked rice evenly into 4 bowls, top with (2). Sprinkle on finely chopped green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
