Ingredients(Servings: 2-3)

apple

1 (300 g / 10.6 oz.)

butter

15 g (0.5 oz.)

mirin

2 Tbsp

sugar

1 Tbsp

cinnamon powder

a dash

cream cheese

2 Tbsp

walnuts

chervil

Directions

  1. Rinse the apples well, quarter unpeeled, core and then cut into 5 mm (0.2 in.) thick wedges.
  2. Melt the butter in a fry pan over low-medium heat, arrange (1) inside without overlapping, and pan-fry each side for about 2 minutes each.
  3. Once the apples are tender, add in half each of the mirin and the sugar, then continue to cook until golden brown. Flip each wedge, sprinkle in the remaining mirin and sugar, then continue to flip from time to time until golden brown all over.
  4. Serve onto a plate, sprinkle on cinnamon and top with the cream cheese. Feel free to sprinkle on crushed walnuts and garnish with a sprig of chervil, if desired.
