Dip the nanohana into water to refresh. Remove and quickly boil in lightly salted water. Remove into cold water. Cut into 4 cm (1.6 in) lengths, then squeeze out excess moisture.

Cut the thick deep-fried tofu into easy-to-eat pieces. Pour on hot water evenly to remove excess oil.

Heat (A) and (2) in a pot. Once boiling, lower the heat. Cover with a lid, and leave to simmer for about 10 minutes.

Remove the cover, add in (1) and simmer uncovered for an additional 2 minutes.
