- Boil the konnyaku, remove the scum that forms and cut into 5mm (1/4 in.) pieces. Remove the stem from the mushrooms and slice into thick strips. Place the string beans in boiling water for 2-3 min., remove and diagonally cut into 3 cm (1 in.) long pieces.
- Heat the red chili peppers in salad oil in a fry pan. Once an aroma begins to emanate, add in and stir fry the well-dried konnyaku. If the oil appears to be covering all the ingredients, add in the shiitake mushrooms. After they soften, finally add in the string beans, as well as (A). Continue to stir and boil until all the broth from (A) has evaporated.
