Carrot Fries

A healthy dish for enjoying the natural sweetness of carrots delectably paired with the spiciness of curry.

  1. Peel the carrots and cut into 8 mm (0.3 in.) width and 8 cm (3 in.) length sticks, then season with (A) and set aside to soak up flavor for 10 minutes.
  2. Cover (1) with 3 Tbsp of flour and the curry powder, combine together and set aside for 5 minutes.
  3. Spread out some flour in a separate tray and coat each stick from (2).
  4. Pour about 2 cm (0.8 in.) of oil into a 26 cm (10.2 in.) fry pan and turn the heat to medium. Once the temperature reaches 170 to 180℃ (338 to 356°F) add in (3) one at a time, and deep-fry for 5 to 6 minutes while rolling each stick. Turn the heat to high and once the coating is crunchy, remove from the oil allowing any excess to drip off and serve on plates with a squeeze of lemon juice.
