Directions

  1. Decoratively cut the ham into star shapes. Cut the okra into 7 mm (0.3 in) thick pieces, quarter the cherry tomatoes and julienne the cucumber. Divide the watermelon into easy to eat slices.
  2. Boil the somen noodles, soak in ice water and then strain.
  3. Arrange the noodles on a plate. Decorate with (1), the shredded egg and mikan oranges. Serve with the tsuyu and Japanese condiments for adding to the tsuyu as desired.

Thinly slice the cucumber at an angle, gradually slide and stack the slices, then finely cut into thin sticks from end to end.
