Decoratively cut the ham into star shapes. Cut the okra into 7 mm (0.3 in) thick pieces, quarter the cherry tomatoes and julienne the cucumber. Divide the watermelon into easy to eat slices.

Boil the somen noodles, soak in ice water and then strain.

Arrange the noodles on a plate. Decorate with (1), the shredded egg and mikan oranges. Serve with the tsuyu and Japanese condiments for adding to the tsuyu as desired.
