1/2 bulb (95 g / 3.4 oz.)

Directions

  1. Place the onion in a lidded heat-safe container, cover and microwave (600 W) for 90 seconds.
  2. Place the ground meats and okara into a bowl, add in the soymilk, season with the salt and pepper and knead together well. Once evenly kneaded and sticky, add in (1) and mix throughout.
  3. Divide (2) evenly in half. Form each half into a 1 cm (0.4 in.) thick oval patty.
  4. Heat the olive oil in a fry pan and brown one side of the patties, then flip over. Cover with a lid, turn the heat to low and steam-fry.
  5. Wipe away excess oil, pour in (A) and bring to a boil. Coat both sides of the patties evenly with the seasonings. Serve with a side of sauteed corn and boiled green beans, if desired.

Onions - finely chopped

Cut the onion with its outer skin removed vertically in half, and thinly slice cut-side down without cutting as far as the base. Then lay the knife flat and insert horizontal cuts, finely chopping from end to end.
