  • Hon Mirin contains alcohol.
    For individuals unable to consume alcohol, we recommend that you either do not use Hon Mirin or that you boil off the alcohol content prior to use (heated at boiling temperatures for 1 to 1.5 minutes).


  1. Boil the spinach in lightly salted water. Remove, dip in ice water, wring dry and cut into 4-5 cm (2 in) lengths.
  2. Finely chop the walnuts, lightly roast and then grind.
  3. Add and mix (A) with (2). Wring (1) dry and add. Season well before serving.

Greens - boiling in salt

Add salt to plenty of boiling water to achieve salt concentration of about 1 - 2%, then add in the greens from the roots. After boiling for about 20 seconds, remove into cold water.
