  1. Cut the mochi into 7 mm (1/4 in.) cubes and dry in the sun for 3 days until very dry.
  2. Place (1) in a tall bowl, add vegetable oil and coat all surfaces. Place on parchment paper and arrange so they do not overlap.
  3. In a oven preheated to 160C-170C (320F-340F), add (2) and baked for 20-30 minutes until they swell and turn brown.
  4. Mix together (A), then apply to the top with a brush and bake for 1-2 minutes.
  5. Take out of the oven and turn over. Apply (A) to the uncoated surface and bake for 1 more minute. Sprinkle with seven spice pepper and dried green laver and then serve.
