Divide the red bell pepper in half vertically, remove the seeds, then cut up horizontally into 3 mm (0.1 in.) thick slices. Place into a heat-safe container, lightly cover with plastic wrap or a lid, then heat in a microwave (600W) for 1 minute.

Allow to cool, then use paper towel to wipe away excess moisture.

Cut the bell pepper in half, fold the stem and then remove the seeds with your fingers. This is an easier and less wasteful method than using a knife.
